Santa's Littlest Elf has Autism by Amy Ames

It a story about a mom during the holidays trying to raise a child with autism.  Please check back in for I'm going to add more next week.

Thank you for your offers of donations.  You are so kind, but this is one project I want to do for the parents of autistic children.  I want to bring out a feeling of being proud.

I'm just trying to promote autism awareness in the way my son describes it and views it.

What I need is for you to ask your family and friends to call the radio stations and request me, Amy Ames.

The more requests I get, the more it will be played on the radio.  I've been through 14 Christmas Holidays with my son, and it has been.....well..... a moment of awareness.

Being an Aspie means getting so wrapped up that it takes others to unwrap us and show the gift inside.  Amy Ames

Santa’s Littlest Elf Has Autism

Back in the old days Santa Littlest Elf didn’t care much for his presents

never opening only lining the shelves like a picket fence.

He told Santa give them to the orphans at the orphanage down the way.

There was a problem.  The sleigh was too old.  Besides that it didn’t travel straight.

Lickity Split that sleigh wouldn’t go over the snow drifts.  It was too old.  Lickity Split that sleigh wouldn’t go over the snow drifts.  Oh, no, no, no.

The littlest Elf had a fascination with lights and spinning rays.

Santa wasn’t surprised about his plan to fix that old wooden sleigh.

I can harness the energy of those bright Northern Lights.

The reindeer antlers use like antennas to navigate during flight.

Lickity Split that sleigh wouldn’t go over the snow drifts.  It was too old.

Lickity Split that sleigh wouldn’t go over the snow drifts.  Oh, no, no, no.

We all witnessed the very first Christmas and many more over time.

The Littlest Elf never took the credit for he was so very shy,

Later on we learned of his autism and we’re proud he’s so different

for if it wasn’t for his gift giving they’d still be lined end to end.

Lickity Split that sleigh wouldn’t go over the snow drifts.  It was too old.

Lickity Split that sleigh wouldn’t go over the snow drifts.  Oh, no, no, no.

Within a minute it was in the distance,

Santa’s sleigh was out of here

in the atmosphere with all the presents                                                                                                           thanks to an Elf with pointed ears.
