From the recording Roll in the Hay

The original title was Drink Lot of Beer, but my mother told me, "No Beer Songs."  So, I changed it to roll in the hay.  Since roll in the hay has a double meaning, it came very naturally to me.  The waitress in the song was from an experience I saw in France where a customer made the waitress cry.  Part of me wanted to not say anything and mind my own business, but the other part of me stepped in and stood up for the waitress.  That's how this song came about.  Hope you like it.

Lyrics

Roll in the Hay by Amy Ames
Verse1
Her potty mouth was outrageous
In the face of a lounge waitress
The waitress she took a step on back
Said we're gonna have a little chat
I’m going to throw some advice your way
Beause it's better than this here tray

Chorus
Go roll in the hay
Roll in the hay
Roll in the hay
You’ll have a better day

Verse 2
The benefits are numerous
From a healthier heart to lower stress
It'll put you in a better mood
Maybe even stop you from being so rude
And you watch your pain all melt away
So you won't leave it here on display

Chorus
Go roll in the hay
Roll in the hay
Roll in the hay
You’ll have a better day

Verse 3
A waitress job’s quite hectic
Especially when you don’t leave a tip
I had to learn to keep a calm face
Dodging comments like a punching bag
The waitress then pulled out her cell phone
Pointing to 3 mouths to feed at home

Verse 4
I quietly snuck out the back door
So, potty mouth could meet my 4 by 4
Parked it right behind her foreign plates
To make sure justice was served her way
Reminded her she forgot to leave a tip
And while in Texas enjoy your trip
